Ingredients:

1 cup Makhana (fox nuts)

1/2 apple (finely chopped)

1 cup curd (dahi) (chilled, whisked smooth)

4 soft dates (deseeded, soaked in warm water)

1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder

Pinch of sendha namak (rock salt)

1 tbsp chopped almonds or walnuts (optional)

Few pomegranate seeds or mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:

Roast the Makhana
Dry roast in a pan on low flame for 4–5 minutes until crispy. Cool completely. -
Prepare the Dates Paste
Soak 4 dates in warm water for 10 minutes. Blend into a smooth paste. -
Make the Curd Base
Whisk chilled curd until smooth. Add the dates paste, cumin powder, and rock salt. Mix well. -
Assemble the Salad
Add chopped apple, roasted makhana, and nuts (if using) into the curd mix. Stir gently. -
Garnish & Serve
Top with pomegranate seeds or mint leaves. Serve immediately to retain the crunch.
Storage Tip:
For best texture, consume fresh. If storing, keep curd mix and makhana separate. Combine just before serving.
