High-Protein Chickpea Bites

Chickpea Bites - IntuiWell

Try this gluten-free, oil-free, dairy-free High Protein Chickpea Bites recipe – crispy, healthy, and perfect for weight loss and guilt-free snacking.

Ingredients

Main Base:

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked 5–6 hours or overnight)

  • 2 green chilies

  • ½ inch fresh ginger

  • ¼ cup reserved chickpea water (from boiling)

Flavor & Texture Add-ins:

  • ½ cup almonds (ground into fine powder)

  • 1 tbsp paprika powder

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1 tbsp garlic granules

  • 1 tbsp chili flakes (optional)

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped


Instructions

1. Soak and Boil Chickpeas

  • Soak 1 cup dried chickpeas in water for 5–6 hours or overnight.

  • After soaking, boil 2 cups water in a pot with 1 tsp salt.

  • Add chickpeas and boil until completely soft.

  • Strain and reserve ¼ cup of the cooking water.

2. Make the Base Paste

  • In a blender, roughly blend green chilies and ginger.

  • Add the boiled chickpeas and ¼ cup reserved chickpea water.

  • Blend to a smooth, thick paste (you may need to do this in 2 batches).

3. Build the Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, combine:

    • Chickpea paste

    • Almond powder

    • All the spices & salt

    • Fresh chopped coriander

  • Mix thoroughly to a thick, pipeable consistency.

4. Shape & Bake

  • Transfer mixture to a piping bag, snip the tip.

  • Pipe small round drops on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes, or until golden and crispy.


Storage & Serving

  • Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

  • Enjoy as a crunchy tea-time snack, salad topper, or high-protein bite on-the-go.
